So happy we still have a place for good Szechuan style Chinese food in the neighborhood. Seems like most of the new restaurants in my area (Cupertino) are Cantonese. ( I love Szechuan and don't care much for Cantonese)But I am sad to see reports it is going down hill. We only order to-go here, so I cannot comment on service.

This used to be a really great place to eat. Friendly staff, great food, and even the extra special dishes when asparagus was in season. Then it was sold to someone else. It took some time, but the place has declined. The service is so so, but worst of all, the food is terrible. The Hot and Sour soup is greasy, Shrimp in Spicy Garlic Sauce has few shrimp, stringy somewhat wilted celery, and a sauce that tastes like it came from a tin. The Vegetable Chow Mein is overcooked and tasteless.A resounding thumbs down and a strong note of sadness for what was our families favorite Chinese food place. No more.

I LOVE Lock Chun. I am always really picky about new places and super reluctant to try new places but this place is definitely worth a try. I'll try making a list of what I like and go from there.Good:The price is really reasonable, I prefer to come for lunch rather than dinner whenever I can because they have a good lunch special for around $6-$8 and it fills you up! I'm not a big fan of their egg rolls but I love the hot and sour soup they give (both come with lunch special). They also give you tea with every meal if you like tea.The staff is super awesome. I think it used to be owned by different people about a year ago and now it seems as if this other lady now owns it. Everytime me and my boyfriend come she always remembers us and even remembers my order! (I always get the same thing :] They always give us water right away and refill it often, which helps since I am a huge water drinker!Me being a vegetarian is always difficult for me to find a place that allows me to eat good food along with anyone who is not a meat eater. I have been to other Asian restaurants where they do not think about the vegetarians and if they do have dishes they are very bland and lack any kind of spice and variety. So for me Lock Chun works since they have food that I love which is also vegetarian! Try their chow mien I LOVE it!!Not so good:The only thing I am not a fan of is the parking area and the overall location. While it is like 2 blocks from one of my jobs the parking lot can get pretty crowded sometimes, especially on weekends (I think because of the sports bar 2 places down) so sometimes I end up having to park on the billiards side. They write what you order in their native language, which for me personally is a little uneasy sometimes because I like to know how much I'm paying for something, but then again I've never been surprised by the total.Other than that I really can't find anything else wrong this place is a gem!

My favorite place for lunch! Quick, friendly, reasonable price. Try their mongolian chicken next time you come by. It's very tasty. $7.05 for lunch, and you got soup & eggrol with it. :-) cheers!*eggrolls is not good :( I wish they make good eggroll*hot & sour is very good.EXCEPT for one thing! I forgot my iPhone 4S there on the table, and came back for it. IT was GONE! So I won't go back to that place again!

Service has always been fantastic and we have always been pleased with the family meal so can try many dishes. We love the hot/sour soup and have tried many dishes including mongolian beef, sweet and sour pork and beef with broccoli. While I don't see the drastic changes other reviewers have mentioned, I may have noticed small changes in certain dishes but nothing was bad or returned to the kitchen. In the months since we have been coming here, I am still a fan. Food is always fresh, hot and a good value for your money. The service here is always outstanding and they are so flexible with children. We found this location one day last year after wanting to escape the chaos around valley fair. Such a nice find and we have returned several times since.

My son and I went to have lunch here today. It was pretty good! I've been coming to this place for about the same time I arrived in this country. The new management seems to be very friendly to their customers and food was not bad as well. We ordered their 'string beans with chicken & mongolian beef' lunch specials, they include egg rolls, hot/sour soup.... the taste was very similar from the old cook :) I'm sure I will be coming back for more, say in the coming weeks! It sure nice to have descent chinese food around my neighborhood.

Lock Chun has changed hands, and so has the quality of the food.It is really inexplicable, because Wie Lin (previous owner) had worked with the new proprietor. When we visited during the transition, the new owners were following existing recipes and delivering what regulars expected. Since then, the food and flavor profiles are unrecognizable. If I happen to read here they've returned closer to the menu when they purchased the place, I might be back to support the new owners. Otherwise, I'll be visiting elsewhere.
