It was Friday so we had to have seafood/fish for dinner. My son picked Pan Fried Noodles with shrimp while my wife and myself picked from their "authentic Chinese menu" (which you have to sometimes request). We picked steamed fish (w/c was sea bass garnished with salmon and some veggies) and Gai lan (Chinese lettuce) for our veggies, and Mike Wong recommended a seafood soup which was sort of an egg drop soup with generous amounts of fish (i think it was sea bass), We enjoyed our dinner. We liked the fact that what we had was not an "Americanized" Chinese dinner. Everything was very delicious and oriental in a true sense.

Been here a bunch of times, and always had a good time. The owner is hilarious! The decor is from 1980, but it works for them. This is not your traditional/typical chinese restaurant...which is good and bad. They're reasonably priced. Not my first pick for Chinese, but if I'm in the area and in the mood, sure, I'll stop by.

I have been to the Oriental Wok several times, and my food has always been outstanding. I have been on a real scallop kick since returning from my Florida vacation. I ordered the Chinese Asparagus with Scallops, and I can truly say my meal was Scallop Nirvana. The Scallops were the biggest I have ever been served in any restaurant. The black bean garlic sauce that they were cooked in had an awesome flavor that I will gladly order again (and I am not that big of an asparagus fan).Oh and the Crab Rangoon/wontons are probably the best I have had anywhere. The service is great, the food is great, and the decor is nice enough to come dressed up, but you can come as you are at this place. This is not your strip mall chinese, so don't expect the prices to be that either.Your meal might set you back 20+ dollars depending on what you order, but it will be worth it.This is the best Chinese restaurant in the Cincinnati area. Try it! You'll love it!

I've been going to Oriental Wok since I was 8 and I'm 38. It's my father's favorite place to eat. When we were children, we would frequent the original location and my father would take cooking lessons from Mike Wong. Today, we had 3 occasions to celebrate - 2 family birthdays and my impending marriage. My father was upset that his favorite family dinner was no longer on the menu. So, the owner's daughter came over and completely ignored the menu and let the man order whatever he wanted. We had the Po-Po appetizer platter set aflame with bali maki, fried shrimp, crab rangoon and eggs rolls, 2 plates of potstickers, sweet and sour shrimp, pepper steak and Hong Kong chicken. Then they brought us out 2 huge boats of ice cream (the love boat to China for the fiance and me) and a birthday boat for the other two.The food is good but I think people come here because it's such a family run business and it shows. The owner and his kids are always there. It makes you feel like part of the family.

First of all, I've been around, mostly college campus towns such as Rochester, New York, Iowa City, IA and so forth. The competition clearly weed out the 'undesirables' and they have fantastic places and more importantly, put a lot of TLC into the quality of carry outs for a sensible price. Best of all no cheap toxic styrofoam containers but the best and classic takeout boxes. I've been a resident of Ft. Mitchell for over 24 years and check from time to time the local eats. Oriental Wok haven't changed. Over priced unless you want to pay more for the classy, friendly ambiance and flashy atmosphere and less for the quality and appeal of the food. The going rate for a simple carry out lo-mein is around $7. It's $12 here as of 2012...ouch. While they DO make decent and consistant dishes, ( a must for those with certain food allergies ) I chose to stay home and make my own dish using organic udon, my own Berkey filtered water and whatever (yes organic) vegs I have laying around. (I tend to stray away from restaurant soups). I may check back again to see if Wong came to their senses to offer a separately priced, no party entrance fee take out menu in a few months.

I'm not impressed by this place. I'm more disappointed in myself for giving it second chance after second chance after second chance. The first time I went was with a group of buddies; with one of them being Chinese, Mike Wong immediately cozied up to us, brought us the Chinese menu, and gave us free appetizers (among them being "Viagra Shrimp"- make no doubt about it, the guy is a hornball). The food was really good, but frankly, overpriced. I felt like I paid more for the "glitz and glam" than I did for the food. Most recently, I ordered carryout: szechuan chicken, sesame chicken, and potstickers. The great thing about the entrees is that if you don't want your chicken breaded/fried, you don't have to.Both chicken entrees tasted bland and were soaked in sauce. One plus was the tremendous amount of chicken in each entree, though. The potstickers were very doughy and looked as if they were anything but handmade, which is absurd for $8.50.There are plenty other options for better Chinese food in the area (I'll plug for Amerasia in a heartbeat). There are even more options for cheaper mediocre food on par with Oriental Wok. Don't think I'll be going back again, even if Mike kicks in free drinks and some awful, sexist jokes.

I cannot say enough nice things about the Chinese Wok at Fort Mitchell. I come once a year with a large dog club that has a show at the nearby hotel. And every single year I visit this restaurant at least 2 times.Every single year it is the same. Great food, great service, friendly staff and outstanding decor. The prices are good. I come from the San Francisco Bay Area so if you local Cincinnati folks thinks the Wok has high prices, you might be a bit shocked to come to my part of the country.Their shrimp cracker appetizer is off the hook. These things are thick and full of shrimp. You definitely have to share with 4 friends since it is just so big. Stacked tall and on a plate that has sweet and sour sauce surrounding it. Yum! I am a creature of habit and have the steamed salmon every time I come. Over white rice and drizzled with teriyaki gel, it is awesome. I have to add that teriyaki is not on the menu for a way to present the salmon. But I ask for it specially and they do not even blink an eye. Every friend I come with orders something different and everyone loves their meals. The owner, Mr Wong, is hysterical. Does this guy ever have a bad day? I don't think so. He loves his restaurant and loves his clients. The place is amazing inside. Tall ceilings, wonderful decor and koi ponds that surround the patrons. The bathroom has a TV in it and there is a piano player there even during week days. I love this place !!

All the hype and talking about this restaurant has certainly given this restaurant some big ego. Anyway, the price that you pay for is seriously way over price at this economy. The servers look like they did not have anything to eat for the last 3 days, no smiles and expect you to tip them. Come on, give me a break. So what if this restaurant looks great, with the kind of price for wine, beer and food, i could imagine a bigger castle that i would have to dine in at. Not worth the trip at all.?

Every time we go to Oriental Wok or we pick up we are extremely happy. The service is fantastic. If Mike is there he makes you feel as though you just found your great uncle. I have expect him to pull a silver dollar out of my ear. One of our favorite dishes is the Chicken Soong (Lettuce Wraps). We learned how to make these at one of the classes offered by the restaurant. We actually won a cooking contest (amongst our family) with these. Everyone loves them. We always get more than we order. We also love the shrimp fried rice. I have never had it so good. I've eaten at many Chinese restaurants and nothing I've had compares. Huge portions! / great taste / fanstastic service. Also, if Mike recommends something - get it. He once recommended the General Wongs Chicken. Now its one of my favorite dishes. I only wish they had 6 stars to rate this resturaunt.?
