It's pretty simple here. China Max serves great Chinese food. DO NOT GET THEIR SUSHI. If you want me to review this place for their sushi, they will lose a star or two. This place does not do fusion well and most places don't. They really should focus on what they do best and they do it quite well. I frequent the place because my grandmother loves the place and how can I say "No" to grandma, unless of course she brings up me getting married. Silly grandma, marriage is for old people. Shredded Szechuan beef, General Tso's Chicken (white meat only) and Shrimp Chow Fun are always great bets. Hot and Sour Soup in on point. Their dumplings are fantastic, fried or steamed. So c'mon down and bring your grandmother, just tell her lay off the M word.

This place is consistently good and better than it's competition in the surrounding area.I most enjoy their shrimp in black bean sauce with broccoli and their lo mein. The bf loves the chicken pan fried noodle (though i still think it's overpriced..) and the chicken chow fun.His parents love the shrimp with black bean sauce, shrimp lo mein, bok choy, shrimp spring rolls and their steamed shrimp dumplings. The soup dumplings aren't bad either. We eat here at least 8-10 times a month and it's always as expected. The guys who work there know us and are awesome! Looking forward to more China Max!EDIT: just saw how similar this review is to my old one so that must be a good thing! :)

I'm more then happy to may more for great service and food. Do it all the time. However, I've dined here and found their portions are definitely too small and as for quality and taste wise, I've had way better. The absolute WORST??? FORGET about ordering on the phone for delivery! I love my vegetable fried rice without eggs, peas and carrots. I simply asked instead to please make with bean sprouts, onions and snow pea. He gave me a very hard time, finally said he would do it, but would charge me $3.00 extra. $1 for each vegetable (bean sprout/scallion/snow pea). I'm already not getting the egg/green pea and carrot that they can save money on. $3 extra? That's crazy! On top of it, he was not helpful and had a horrible attitude, was so rude and nasty, I will never give them my business again. If you want really good take-out order from "Eastern Chinese" on Neptune Avenue and you will be happily surprised! They had NO problem making my rice this way and didn't charge me a penny extra. For the best eat in chinese, it's a bit of a trip, but worth it! "Mr. Wonton" in Park Slope! They actually make Vegetarian Won Ton soup w/Spinach. It's AMAzing.. and my rice the way I want it. These are two consistent places that never let down. Enjoy :)So long China Max!

People should not complain about the price. Go to a take out joint if you're looking for something greasy and cheap. Brooklyn needs more Chinese restaurants like China Max. The prices are average, I think people are just used to paying dirt cheap for take out in Brooklyn.Ive been ordering from China Max for many years now. If you want fresh authentic Chinese food that is not greasy, then this is the best in sheepshead. The portions are huge and tasty. Their stir fried vegtables are fresh and not drenched in sauce. They also have awesome sushi. Trust me you can taste the difference from cheap chinese places and China Max. I've tried so many things on this menu and never was I disappointed. It's also a good place to go on a date because if youre looking for decadent Chinese food with a lovely restaurant lay out, then it's here.I have also taken my family here for mothers day and fathers day recently. So many families come here on the holidays! The place is pretty big. It was sooo delicious, I practically got my whole family hooked on this place!

It's all relative. People mention the high prices but if you're used to Manhattan prices you can eat like a King at China Max. Food is very good, still love the fantasy shrimp after all these years.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Brooklyn. I eat here a few times a month and it's always delicious, fresh, and clean. Worth the extra money it costs.
