HONESTLY, that was the most terrible 'chinese' food I have ever eaten. I ordered the kung po shrimp which consisted of 4 soggy miserable looking worms that can hardly be expected to be considered prawns by any person with a sense of taste, a strong, healthy amount of raw carrot cubes, peanuts and celery. Digging deeper into the unkown realms of this questionably sized styro foam tray exhibition, I was greeted with only an overwhelming quarry of what seemed like a week old, aging brown rice. Thankfully, I ordered a combination plate and proceeded to plan B.. The spring roll side order... My God.. I thought, as I foolishly dived into the misleadingly crispy, steaming exterior of the New Hong Kong Kitchen's finest brown vegetable pod. I cant even put a name to what was inside as whatever it was, died a long time ago and had be mutilated and raped to the point of non recognition. Gasping for relief, I practically inhaled the orange soda I order, the one thing I knew could be trusted in this display of unholy destruction of sustenance. My wording in this review may be alarming only because it is essential that you do not, under any circumstances buy their food and allow their business to continue serving our community. My dining associates were equally unsatisfied with their order of pork fried rice (it is beyond me how cooking rice can be done so horribly wrong), chicken wings that were undoubtedly taken from creatures depraved of sunlight and essential nourishment as even the almost blinding garlic sauce could not mask the hideous limps they had cut from these poor animals, and spare ribs that had less meat then a starving african child soldier. We immediately reacted and began our mission to end this injustice. Ringing New Hong Kong Kitchen to explain the situation, we were met with an incoherent buffoon of a man that was assumed to be the manager of this house of horror. Demanding a refund and his resignation, he assured us of a full refund (after we denied several portions of more unworthy worm shrimp) but we would have to wait 30minutes. Left to nurture our still hungry stomachs that began to feel ill (they still do as I write this 1hour after the matter was ingested) , we waited, and waited, and waited. Call number two to NHKK headquarters, we were met with another proposal that was dismissed in round 1 of this war against tyranny, 'give us back the food and you will be refunded with the amount you did not eat'..... Any decent restaurant that decides to play games with customer satisfaction does not even deserve one star in my opinion. Left to stand naked in a corner against all odds, we regrettably fell into line. Digging thru the trash, we found most of the food and recieved 20$ out of the 30$ we spent back, still hungry, feeling ill, we use resort to fighting for justice online throught the media of restaurant review forums. We are making a plea for you to take your business anywhere else. I feel so strongly about this that I will leave my email address as a guarantee of my backing in this campaign to end the reign of chinese food terror that plagues New York City. Please do not undertake the risks of ingesting NHKK 'food'. thankyou for reading. m-pin91@hotmail.com

I am giving them only one star simply because the delivery guy was such a jerk. He called my phone and told me to come downstairs. I was in my PJs and sick...hence my asking for DELIVERY. After multiple phone calls and arguing, I finally called and spoke to the woman I had placed my order with. She told me she would "ask him but he might not". Ten minutes later he buzzed and I let him up. He then proceeded to yell at me in Chinese. The only thing I understood was "no inside delivery". What's the point of delivery if you're not going to deliver??? He's lucky I gave him a buck tip. Won't be ordering from them again. And it's not the best food either - but I guess that's besides the point.

In other words, you get more than you paid for, which is rare nowadays. Dining in other neighboring restaurants typically cause $2 more with the same quality food. With under $5, there are plenty of choices for lunch and dinner. Free soda for any order over $4 too. For the most part, it is a typical Americanized Chinese restaurant, but there are choices that are more-resembling authentic Chinese food. The menu says no MSG, but the food certain tastes just as good.?
